CleanByMail is the perfect complement to many of our Specialty Services. Many items are processed through CleanByMail, including ties, purses, handbags, shoes, leathers, suedes, sweaters, shirts, knits, furs, and wedding gown preservations. No matter where you live.
Finding a cleaner to trust with your fine Brioni tie, Loro Piana cashmere sweater, Chanel Handbag, or Ferragamo shoes can be nerve-racking. If you don't live within our service area, we would be honored to be selected as your specialty dry cleaner. We ship items nationwide daily to customers outside our regular pick-up and delivery areas. Many of them have been referred by other dry cleaners or retailers who are familiar with and recommend our specialty services.
We've developed our custom shipping boxes and carefully package each item or garment properly for protection. In addition, you can submit an estimate request on our website (along with photos of your item) and obtain a CleanByMail® request form to accompany your order. Video consultations for advice are available with one of our expert technicians.
If you reside outside of our Southern California pickup and delivery areas, you now have the option to ship your items using Margaret's CleanByMail Service using UPS to provide you with a convenient way to drop off and send repairs to us. With over 4,900 UPS Store® locations, couture care has never been more convenient. It's basically like having 4,900 Margaret's drop-off locations.
- A minimum service charge of $250.00 is required to utilize our complimentary UPS CleanByMail services and insurance.
- Our 20% off two or more handbag cleaning offer through CleanByMail DOES NOT APPLY when using complimentary UPS shipping and insurance.
- Complimentary shipping is ALWAYS included with our wedding gown preservation services.

Even though we frequently ship all the services that Margaret's offers, some are more appropriate than others for shipping. The services most commonly used are:
Purse & Handbag Cleaning, Bridal Gown Preservation, Leather & Suede Cleaning, Necktie & Scarf Cleaning, Knit Cleaning, Blocking & Reknitting, Hand Laundered & Ironed Shirts, French Hand Laundry Service, and Table & Bed Linens.
No prior arrangements are necessary to use our UPS CleanByMail Service. Print a UPS CleanByMail Request Form from the link above and send the form along with your quote and your items to be processed. A quote can be obtained by submitting an estimate request. We’ll get started when we receive your order.
*Margaret’s provides complimentary insurance for all packages up to $2,500. The cost of the additional insurance, approximately $1.00/$100 declared value, will be added to your final invoice. Margaret's will not be responsible for uninsured items damaged or lost in shipping.
*The limit of liability for an inbound package is $5,000. If you wish to ship and insure a package for over $5,000, please get in touch with customer service, and we will send you a preprinted label.
NOTE: If you wish to have us provide insurance of more than $2,500 on an item when it ships back to you, indicate the amount of coverage on the form. The cost of the additional insurance, approximately $1.00/$100 declared value, will be added to your shipping charge. Shipping via the USPS or other carrier:
Should you prefer to use a different carrier to send your item to us, the bottom right corner of the request form can be cut out and used as a shipping label. Call our toll-free number: (866) 454-2375 to check on the status of an order or email: CLEANBYMAIL@MARGARETS.COM.
Include on the Request form the required Credit Card information for billing. Processing of the order will not be initiated until complete and verified card information is obtained. If you have used our CleanByMail service before we may have a credit card on file for you. In that case, just provide the last 4 digits of the card on the form as well as its expiration date.
Many items are shipped in our specially developed containers to protect the garments during shipping. Each item is carefully packaged to protect the finished garment. UPS ground shipping is used unless otherwise specified. Be sure to indicate declared value for insurance and your preferences regarding delivery if no one is home to receive the package.
